AI-powered tools for ad copies now available on LinkedIn

As advertisers, we all know how tough it can be to come up with creative, attention-grabbing campaign copy. Whether you’re stretched thin or you’re looking for a way to jumpstart your creativity, LinkedIn may have the solution. The Microsoft-owned company recently launched a new tool that uses generative AI to suggest different copies for your ads. In this blog post, we explain how the tool works and what it means for advertisers in North America and beyond.

AI-Generated Copy for LinkedIn Ads

According to a recent blog post by Abhishek Shrivastava, VP of Product at LinkedIn, the company’s new AI Copy Suggestions tool uses data from a marketer’s LinkedIn page and Campaign Manager setting to suggest different introductory text to the ad. Essentially, you can input your copy into the “introductory text” box within the Campaign Manager and then turn on the “Generate copy suggestions” toggle to receive alternative suggestions from the AI.

This feature is currently in a test phase and available to some customers in North America. The company has plans to roll out the feature to new geographies and add support for more languages in the coming months. If successful, it could be a game-changer for advertisers struggling to come up with fresh, creative campaign copy on their own.

Leveraging Generative AI in Marketing

LinkedIn isn’t the only big tech company to jump on the generative AI bandwagon for advertising solutions. In May, Meta launched its own suite of generative AI tools to assist marketers with copywriting, background generation, and image cropping. Google also introduced a new Product Studio that lets advertisers create images using generative AI and using AI to transform ads and adapt them in search results.

These AI tools can be incredibly helpful for advertisers who want to save time and boost their campaigns’ creativity. But it’s worth noting that LinkedIn, like other companies using AI-generated copy, doesn’t indicate whether some or all of the text is generated by AI. It will be interesting to see how these tools continue to evolve and impact advertising in the coming years.

Final Thoughts

As marketers, we’re always looking for new, effective ways to drive ROI and produce memorable campaigns. LinkedIn’s AI Copy Suggestions tool may be just the ticket, giving marketers a way to jumpstart their creativity and reduce the time they spend on day-to-day tasks. While it’s still in a testing phase, we’re excited to see how this tool evolves and what it means for advertisers around the world. Stay tuned!
